Wassi Art Collage

Featured Artist: Homer Brown

ShopMyJamaica is featuring Wassi Art, an absolute favourite of ours. Established in 1992 by Theresa Lee, Wassi Art is one of Jamaica's largest producers of new, interesting, unusual and affordable Jamaican crafts and ceramics. Considered unorthodox in the ceramic art world, Wassi Art designs are brightly colored, one-of-a-kind, uninhibited and original pieces with broad appeal. The factory, situated in Ocho Rios, has a compliment of artist and potters who produce some of Jamaicia’s finest handcrafted pottery. They capture the island’s essence through the love of their craft, creating beautiful items for the home, including statues, vases, planters, plates, teapots, cups and saucers. Terracotta colored clay, dug by hand from the Blue Mountain ranges and transported to Wassi Art, is the first step of production.
